Kelsey Ann Sexton is an award-winning Nationally Certified Master Groomer, International Speaker and Journalist with two decades of Professional Pet Grooming experience. She owns an award winning salon outside of Nashville, TN that focuses on customer relationships for routine pet grooming services. Kelsey was nominated for Barkleigh Honors Speaker of the Year in 2022 and 2023. She has a passion for continued education in the Pet Grooming Industry collaborating with several brands to help everyday pet groomers both seasoned and new.
1. ANCHORS OF SANITY: ROUTINES TO STAY AFLOAT
This class is all about turning grooming into a breeze while keeping tails wagging. She will share her secrets of time-saving tricks that help her zip through her day without sacrificing quality. From bubble baths to stylish trims, you’ll learn how to streamline your grooming routine. Unleash your grooming superpowers and become a master of efficiency in Dog Grooming!
2. ALL ABOARD THE RIGHT CLIENTS: CLIENT CURATION
Are you tired of attracting a book full of dogs you don’t enjoy grooming? So was Kelsey. It’s time to curate a portfolio that showcases the work you love and the clients you want. In this class, She will help you build a book that highlights your unique grooming style. Whether it’s creative cuts, breed-specific styles, or pampering senior pups. Learn how to choose your best before-and-after photos, organize your work to tell your story, and present a portfolio that reflects your true specialty. By the end, you’ll have a personalized book that attracts the right clients and sets you up for a more enjoyable, profitable business.
3. HEAD ABOVE WATER: EASY FACE PLANS FOR ANY GROOM
Let’s face it! You don’t wanna spend hours on a face but you want your grooms to look cute everytime. In this class you’ll learn Kelsey’s tips for a starting point on a cute little face that can translate to every pet groom you do.
4. PEOPLE PLEASER OVERBOARD!
“Yes, I can fit Fluffy in,” “Sure, you can pick up late,” “Yes, I will waive the fee.” Does this sound like you? In this class we will go over lighthearted issues that arise, caused unknowingly by us trying to please everyone. Going from customer servant to customer service, Kelsey Ann will discuss steps to incorporate boundaries to please you, which, in turn, builds wonderful customer relationships.
5. BEACH, PLEASE! NOT ANOTHER DELUSIONAL CLIENT
Groomers are faced with multiple inquiries and personalities when offering a service to the public. Is your salon set up for success to handle these “delusional” requests? “Can you fit her in today? Is my dog done yet? Why so expensive? Can I pick up after hours? Don’t poodle my doodle!” We hear these comical and frustrating requests often. In this seminar you will learn how to go from “Customer Servant” to “Customer Service” by structuring your salon to be prepared for whatever delusional demands clients can come up with.
6. LIFESAVERS AT SEA: PET FIRST AID & CPR
As a pet care professional, you want to be equipped with the skills to handle medical emergencies that arise while a pet is in your care. Whether a pet becomes ill, injured, or needs help in a disaster, this course will teach you how to respond. In this two-hour course, you will learn how to stock a first aid kit, perform CPR, respond to breathing and heart emergencies (including choking), and implement disaster procedures. This unique course is customized for pet care professionals and you will learn how to respond to emergencies specific to your industry. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a frameable certificate stating that you are certified in Pet Professional First Aid & CPR.
